Accurate, reliable data is a critical tool for service planning, advocacy, and preventing and ending homelessness. Because homelessness is not a static or uniform experience, collecting the numbers and characteristics of those experiencing homelessness, as well as quantifying the need for services, is essential to understanding our system’s ability to meet the need and to identifying effective strategies for addressing the crisis.

The Housing Crisis Hotline covers 14 cities in Southeastern Virginia. The growing call volume reflects both the level of housing instability in Hampton Roads and the Hotline's growing role as a critical connector between households and hundreds of vital community resources.
